ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of high strength fiberglass composite resin post crown defect. Methods 102 teeth with dental coronal defect from 76 patients were divided into observation group and control group according to their wishes. The observation group (52 teeth) was treated with high strength glass fiber composite resin.Meanwhile, the control group(50 teeth) was treated with nickel-chromium alloy casting post-and-core joint nickel-chromium alloy PFM crown. The two groups received follow-up visit after completing treatment for one year. Results After one year follow -up, 1 patient appeared root fracture and 2 patients had gingival abnormal, the success rate in the observation group was 96.15%.In the control group,4 patients had root fracture,5 cases had core loose or fall off and 8 cases appeared gingival abnormal, the success rate was 78.00%.The results showed that the differences between the two groups were significant(χ2 =5.358,P=0.021;χ2 =4.258,P=0.039;χ2 =32.967,P=0.000).According to the patients satisfaction survey, the satisfaction rate in the observation group was 92.50%,which in the control group was only 66.67%,the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =7.982,P=0.005).Conclusion High strength fiberglass composite resin had higher success rate to patients with teeth defect, the satisfaction was superior and worthy of widely applied in clinic.
